Anime and fine line

An anime frame and an anime tattoo are not the same thing. On screen there is flat colour, lighting and context; on skin you have to decide what stays, what gets reinforced and what goes, so the image still works ten years from now.
That translation work is the fun part. Bring screenshots, fanart or a loose idea about a character and we build it into a piece of its own.

Both work; colour needs longer sessions and more sun care.
We adjust contrast and detail so it reads well on skin.
If you want several characters, we plan them so they live together.
Anime is drawn for the screen: flat colour, clean outlines and lighting that changes from frame to frame. Moving it to skin means making decisions: strengthening the lines that define the character, simplifying backgrounds and choosing a palette that still looks good once the ink settles.
That is why we rarely tattoo a screenshot as it is. We start from your reference and redraw it with the size and placement in mind, so the character is recognisable at a glance and holds up over the years.
Solid colour is the most faithful to the look of the shows and has a lot of impact, but it needs longer sessions and more sun care. The line-only version is lighter and more discreet, ideal for small pieces or for anyone who wants a nod that is not too obvious.
You can also mix them: the character in line work with one element in colour, or colour on the character and a black background. We show you options before finalising the design.
Full-body characters, busts with a signature expression, iconic objects from a series, kanji or recognisable scenes. We get all kinds of references, from classics like Dragon Ball or the Ghibli films to this season’s shows.
If you want several characters, it is best to plan them together from the start, even if we tattoo them in separate sessions, so the final composition makes sense. And if you share a favourite series, we do matching pieces for friends or couples.
Colour and size drive the price. Tell us the character, placement and size and we will estimate it.

Yes, it is the best way to start. Send us screenshots, fan art or drawings of the character you like, and the artist will adapt it so it works as a tattoo.
It depends on the level of detail. A full-body character with an expression needs more space than a chibi or a symbol. We will recommend a size at which the face and features will still read over the years.
Well-saturated solid colours hold up very well with good healing and sun protection. Very light tones, such as yellows or pastels, are the ones that fade most over time.
Yes. Characters from the same series, shared symbols or quotes: we design them to work on their own and together.
